TPU
TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane. TPU is a flexible material that has a lot of consumer and industrial uses. It is a great material for flexible applications since it has an almost rubber like texture. Parts printed with TPU have a lot of durability and can withstand ambient temperatures of up to 80 degrees Celsius. Because of its abrasion resistance it knows a lot of applications in the automotive and aerospace industries. For consumers TPU is mostly used for its flexible properties.
Wood filament
Wood filament is a filament used to recreate the look and feel of wood. It is usually PLA infused with tiny wood fibres. This filament does come with the cost of reduced flexibility and strength. There’s many different types of wood filament representing different tree types. There’s pine, birch and oak for example. Functionality-wise it is not the best filament but it has a lot of aesthetic appeal.
Water-soluble
Water soluble filament has a few different applications, one of the most prominent applications of water soluble filament is printing dissolvable support. This makes it possible to remove the support of you print just by putting the part in some water. Another application is making moulds for parts, since the material can easily be removed from the mould by just adding water. This material is great for any application where the part needs to be removed easily.
